About Wilson, PA

Wilson Borough is named after the U.S. President Woodrow Wilson. First formed as a township on February 10, 1913, during the first half of 1920 a number of property owners solicited the courts to change the form of government from a township to that of a borough. Wilson was founded by white supremacists who were opposed to racial integration occurring in the area. (Note that page 11 of the cited publication only states that residents agreed that their "new township would be named for the successful candidate of the 1912 Presidential Elections, William H.
