About Carroll, OH

Carroll was laid out in 1829 at the junction of two canals. The village was named after Charles Carroll of Carrollton (1737–1832), American politician, delegate to the second Continental Congress, and last surviving signer of the Declaration of Independence. Local farmer David Brandt's no-till farming using cover crops was featured in the national press in 2013.
