Paint Gelding for Sale in Morgantown, WV

Remington is a handsome, energetic 16 year old, 15.3 h brown & white paint. He was purchased as the first horse for a young rider and has been wonderfully patient with her as she moved from w/t to canter. He has great ground manners: bathes, clips, vacuums, loads, and stands like a gentleman for the farrier. He has no vices and loves being turned out by himself or with his buddies. He was vetted on purchase and has been sound with no maintenance. Remington has a very smooth trot and canter and is built uphill. He loves to jump and has a flying lead change. “Remy” does need a rider that is secure at the jumps as he is more forward. He would be perfect for an intermediate rider that wants to start showing and wants an eye-catching horse with beautiful movement that jumps around 2’ 9’’. Remington would also be great as a pony club horse. He loves to jump and goes on the bridle for basic dressage. He has also been used lightly by more advanced riders in an IEA lesson program aimed at training and developing him. Remington’s 8 year old rider wants to show in the hunter ring and he is just too much horse for her. All reasonable offers will be considered and a prompt sale is necessary due to the search for a new horse for his rider. VIDEO: https://youtu.be/0NytMlP-UZI

About Morgantown, WV

Morgantown is closely tied to the Anglo-French struggle for this territory. Until the Treaty of Paris in 1763, what is now known as Morgantown was greatly contested by white settlers and Native Americans, and by British and French soldiers. The treaty decided the issue in favor of the British, but Indian fighting continued almost to the beginning of the American Revolutionary War in 1775. Zackquill Morgan, son of Morgan Morgan, and his brother David entered the area of Virginia that would become Morgantown around 1767, although others such as Thomas Decker are recorded as attempting settlements in the area a decade earlier. As well, several forts were built in the area during this time: Fort Pierpont near the Cheat River, in 1769; Fort Coburn, near Dorsey's Knob, in 1770.
