Crossbred Pony Mare for Sale in Stockton, CA

Sugar Bear is a gorgeous and super sweet Gypsy/Haflinger large pony standing at 13.3 hh, and weighs 1000 lbs. She is strong, sturdy, and honest. She is a sweetheart who is a "been there, done that" ranch pony that has been used for all aspects of ranch work. Experience includes gathering, branding cattle, loading trucks, checking cows out on the range, ride out alone or with a group, and overnight rides. She is sure-footed as they come and is an honest mare who goes where you ask. She goes through water, loads and hauls perfectly, is good around dogs, quads, tractors, and kids. In the arena, Sugar is a smooth ride, picks up leads, rides English and western, goes over small jumps, and has a nice stop. She neck reins and direct reins, moves off leg, side passes, open/closes gates,
... more»and can pony another horse with no problems. Overall, Sugar Bear is a solid large pony with great experience outside on the trail and in the arena. She would be a perfect addition to the family, as a lesson horse in a barn setting, or for an older experienced horse woman who wants to have a stout short horse to take them in and out of the arena. Sugar is utd on shots, feet (can go barefoot), teeth, and worming. She is sound, healthy, and requires no special care. Sugar is a wonderful mother and an easy breeder. She gets along with other horses, hobbles, high-lines, loves baths, excellent for the farrier, and looks to please. If you are looking for that hard to find large pony that goes English and Western- look no further than the sweet Sugar Bear! About Stockton, CA

When Europeans first visited the Stockton area, it was occupied by the Yatchicumne, a branch of the Northern Valley Yokuts Indians. They built their villages on low mounds to keep their homes above regular floods. A Yokuts village named Pasasimas was located on a mound between Edison and Harrison Streets on what is now the Stockton Channel in downtown Stockton. The Siskiyou Trail began in the northern San Joaquin Valley. It was a centuries-old Native American footpath that led through the Sacramento Valley over the Cascades and into present-day Oregon.
