2018 Reg'd Roan Welsh Gelding

Gorgeous 2 Year Old Registered Welsh Blue Roan Gelding. This is Elvis. Super cute and super smart! This guy exemplifies everything that's wonderful about the Welsh breed. Intelligent, cooperative, brave, honest, versatile, strong and hardy. Gorgeous long and thick mane and tail. I've been putting MTG in both to keep the ticks out, and it's prevented his pasture mates from chewing his mane. White blaze and 4 white socks. When Elvis and I first met, he was terrified of people, and shook like a leaf when I so much as looked his way. He has no vices, but initially he did nip at my clothes and tried to kick me once when I was going around back from one side to the other. He's over all of that now, and I'm very proud of him, and how far he's come. I'm honored to be a part of this little guy's journey, and to have been the one to earn his trust enough to teach him the basics and give him a good start. Elvis can - stand quietly for brushing and saddling, - lift and hold all four hooves and stand quietly for picking and trimming (HUGE milestone for him), - lunge at all gaits (both directions in round pen, but we're working on clockwise without the round pen), - lead line walk, trot, back, - walk over/though various obstacles, and is not afraid of tarps and flags, - trailers like a dream. I have saddled Elvis about 10 times, and laid across his back the past 5-6 times, but have never thrown a leg over. I don't think he's quite ready. When he is, I will put some light rides on him, and then take him out into the trails. Once he's at that level his price will go up. I feel that an ideal situation for Elvis would be a home where a confident youth can continue his training, with the help and supervision of an adult. I measured him July 12 and he is exactly 13HH. He will grow until he is 5, and will mature to 13.3HH -> 14HH. These pictures don't do him justice, and he's going to get even prettier once he matures.
