Thoroughbred Mare for Sale in Ben Wheeler, TX
This mare is very pretty and very sweet, but she does require someone with
a little experience. She is very gentle and loves treats and grooming.
She rides well, but I would not recommend her for a complete beginner.
She has not been ridden in about 5 months. She may need a refresher, but
even consistent riding will get her back in form. She may be suitable as
a lesson horse as she had been started as a jumper before I purchased
her. She stands great for the farrier and loads. I have not tried to
bathe or clip her since I got her. Previous owner used Clinton Anderson
training methods with her. I am selling her because she is just too big
for me. I need a shorter horse. She deserves a good home with someone
who will give her something to do. I will consider any reasonable offer.
About Ben Wheeler, TX
The area around Ben Wheeler was first settled in the 1840s by Kentucky farmer Benjamin F. Wheeler. Originally known as Clough, after prominent local farmer George W. Clough, the community was renamed Ben Wheeler in 1878 after the town's post office was relocated to the present townsite. The community was beset by many hardships in its early years, including an 1893 fire which destroyed most of the town's businesses.
