Arabian Gelding for Sale in Salem, OR

Memphis is a wonderful gelding with lots of personality, and is ready for a new friend to trust and work with. He is mostly ridden English, however he has been ridden western and bareback. He's been to the beach, on trails, to shows (however, he's not a fan of them), and had plenty of experience under his belt. He can be used all around or with a little training, he can be taken in the direction you please. He wants a job! If you have a job for a horse that loves to use up his energy, he's the gelding for you! He is generally calm and patient in the saddle, though get's spooky when his attention isn't on you. He rides with other horses just fine, doesn't pull back when tied to a trailer, and loads well. He is not safe for beginners in the saddle, and would do best with a intermediate to advanced rider. I have let beginners play with him on the ground and he has been fine (even when the rope halter was put on wrong), and have let my little sister (2 years) sit on him while he was in cross ties. Beginners have been allowed to sit and walk on him when he is on the lead line only. He isn't a herd bound horse, however he normally 'claims' a gelding as his buddy. He isn't normally pushy when introduced to other horses unless they allow him to be.

About Salem, OR

The Native Americans who inhabited the central Willamette Valley at first European contact, the Kalapuya, called the area Chim-i-ki-ti, which means "meeting or resting place" in the Central Kalapuya language (Santiam). When the Methodist Mission moved to the area, they called the new establishment Chemeketa; although it was more widely known as the Mill, because of its situation on Mill Creek. When the Oregon Institute was established, the community became known as the Institute. When the Institute was dissolved, the trustees decided to lay out a town site on the Institute lands. Some possible sources for the name "Salem" include William H.
