Friesian Gelding for Sale in Jacksboro, TX
Meet the fantastic Mr. Fox ~ This gorgeous gelding is a 16.2h, 6-year-old bay Friesian cross. He has a balanced sport-horse conformation, a lovely bit of feather, and a sweet, 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐫. Fox has a fun, silly side, loves a sunset stroll, and he is ready to find his partner!
Fox is broke to ride in both English and Western. He is light in the bridle, moves off the leg nicely, neck reins, and has one heck of a stop. He has packed beginners and Adult Amateur riders and has been steady, patient, and forgiving. He looks 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤 and has elegant, expressive movement well suited to dressage. We have lightly started him over 2’ fences, and he has the scope and athleticism for more. We believe he could excel in any eventing discipline. He is a versatile mount with both 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐚 𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 and is ready to go any direction you’d like to take him. Fox is also broke to drive and has extensive miles as a carriage horse.
This kind gelding is a 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 and stands tied quietly. He loads and unloads from the trailer with ease and stands peacefully for the farrier, no stocks needed. He is currently barefoot and has excellent, solid feet. Fox is easy to catch and does well in a herd setting, landing near the middle of the pecking order. He is an easy keeper, currently on a forage-only diet. His teeth were floated in the spring; he requires no maintenance and sells sound and UTD. Current PPE on file. Tiny Pony Co. rider is 5’6 for reference.

About Jacksboro, TX
Jacksboro was first settled in the 1850s, with newcomers attracted by land offers from the Texas Emigration and Land Office. Originally called "Mesquiteville", the community grew up along the banks of Lost Creek and spread out over the pastureland between Lost Creek and the waters of the West Fork of Keechi Creek. It was renamed "Jacksboro" in 1858 when it became the county seat, in honor of brothers William and Patrick Jack, veterans of the Texas Revolution. Regular postal service began in 1859. The county was one of the few in Texas to vote against secession before the Civil War.
