Friesian Gelding for Sale in Bogard, MO
Gulfstream is a 3-year-old Friesian x Quarter Horse gelding standing 15.2 hands high. “Captain” is a personal favorite here, enjoyed by riders of all levels and ages. You would never know his age from how balanced and sure-footed he is. He is wise beyond his years, reliable, and has the best brain. Everything about this horse brings you happiness. He has the most comfortable canter you’ll ever experience, an understanding and quiet mind, and the best personality around. If you’re looking for a young, safe horse that has had everything done the right way from day one, one that’s ready to be successful in any place you go with him, and one that is equal parts amateur-friendly and talented, Captain is the partner for you. He is the kind of horse that makes every ride feel complete after a ride, makes you feel safe in all situations, and has you looking forward to being in the barn with him.
In the ring, Captain is simple and smooth. He has three extremely comfortable and balanced gaits and is starting to put together basic dressage tests. He will side-pass to pick you up at the mounting block or from anything you step up on to mount. He rides both English and Western, and will neck rein, has a great stop, and a solid understanding of lateral work. He will leg-yield and side-pass, and is responsive to aids. He is always willing and happy to try and learn new things! Captain is very easy to ride, and though young, feels more like a horse twice his age. With his mind, movement, and attitude you can tell that he was born to be an amateur’s horse.
On the trails and off property, Captain is trustworthy and quiet. He has gone everywhere and seen so many things. Not much bothers this guy; he has proven to be safe and steady with all sorts of “spooky” things such as trains, heavy traffic, livestock, ATVs, and more. Captain will also cross water, bridges, all kinds of terrain, and is happy to ride alone or in a group. Captain hops right on the trailer, ties well, and is patient and steady everywhere he’s gone.
In the barn, Captain is the most polite gentleman around. He is great for all the usual barn tasks and loves attention from his people. He is truly a pleasure to have as a partner and continues to get better and better every day.
