Missouri Foxtrotter Gelding

Strawberry is a 6-year-old, DNA-d, registered Missouri Foxtrotting gelding. Strawberry was born, raised, and started right here on our farm in Marshfield, Missouri. He is a grandson of Southern Sunrise and a son of Southern Sunrise’s Hotshot (see photo). I was right there when he was born in my back pasture. Strawberry was first ridden by me at 79 years old. Knowing his calm disposition since he was born, and knowing his sire, grandsire, dam, etc., I was pretty certain it was safe getting on him for his first ride. When you’re nearly 83 years old, you don’t stand up on a horse unless you trust him! While on the trail, you can drop the reins on Strawberry, and he will hold a nice, slow, steady walk in which you can ride with non-gaited horses. He will also consistently walk faster if you cue him to do so (just by squeezing your legs). He has a nice, even foxtrot and a lope (canter) that is a dream to ride! Strawberry also has a nice, fast rack that I prefer. Strawberry is easy to mount and dismount, standing perfectly still, patiently waiting for your cue to move forward or back. He loads quickly and easily in any horse trailer and backs out when asked. He loves his bath. He is very easy to catch! He loves babies, dogs, cats, and people, just to name a few! (Oh! And apples and other horse friends! He has always been with other horses and gets along with them well. Strawberry will be an eye-catcher on the trail with his beautiful color and conformation, his gentle, friendly demeanor, and just his all-around appearance!
