Rocky Mountain Mare for Sale in Alvin, TX

Davina comes from old RMH blood lines: Maple’s Squirrel, Sewell’s Sam, Vergeland Jake, and Neace’s Blue Lady on sire side with Johnson’s Toby and double lines to Kilburn’s Chocolate Sundown on mare side. Her confirmation and smooth gait reflect the old foundation lines but she is trotting more than single footing at the moment so does require some additional training. She has the capability to move out with nice steady speed but is not a high stepper. Her sire was from “Romance Valley Rockies” and was his first offspring. Davina’s very intelligent and learns quickly which we saw during the Parelli ball training. She stood quietly and curiously as the ball was rolled toward her, bounced next to her, pushed under her and bounced around her back all while she was free to leave. Her buddies had long ago left the area, but she stayed to see what was next. She’s sweet and willing and likes greeting visitors. She’s been saddled when she was 2 and half years old and reacted the same way (very willing). She hasn’t been shod as she’s only been worked barefoot. She hasn’t been ridden since this time, so her breed certification remains incomplete due to my lack of attention. She stands for the Ferrier, baths, insect sprays, grooming, and will load. UTD on annuals, coggins and pasted in the last month. Have not had the time to devote to her training so would love to see her in a breeder home to pass these wonderful qualities to her offspring. More photos and video to come as she is part of a herd dispersal.

About Alvin, TX

In Alvin's municipal election on May 7, 2016, citizens voted to elect newly relocated resident, Chris Sanger, as their At Large Position 2 city council member in the city's largest turnout in a municipal election, with 1,590 votes cast. Sanger ousted two-term incumbent, Terry Droege, with Sanger receiving 50.58% to Droege's 49.42%. Chris Sanger ran on the slogan, "Fresh Face, New Voice," while pointing out that the incumbent had a spotty attendance record to regularly scheduled council meetings, amongst other calls for accountability, such as lower property taxes, expenditure responsibility, and that police for the city of Alvin have been historically underpaid. Chris Sanger resigned in October 2017, citing a possible conflict of interest between his occupation and his position on city council. Candidate filings began the next month and on March 24, 2018, then 18-year-old Joel Castro won a special election against John Burkey to serve for the remainder of Sanger's unexpired term.
