Racking Gelding for Sale in Alvin, TX

To approved home only. CHECKS NOT ACCEPTED. With sweet and willing personality, Jasper makes an experienced rider a wonderful horse. He responds to natural horsemanship training by learning quickly. He's been trained for over five months in gaited western pleasure but needs sweat blanket time for regular riding as he’s not been ridden in three years. He has been ridden on trails during his training but not since. During trail rides, he doesn’t spook but would turn in place to face unexpected sounds. Jasper is a wonderful riding horse when he’s ridden regularly but if left out in the pasture, he needs a refresher to be your perfect riding horse again. His rack is smooth and consistent during his barefoot rides. He’s not been trained for a “true saddle rack” so he would need conditioning for faster speed. He has been shod in the past, but shoes are only necessary if ridden on streets or rocky trails. Jasper is not registered, and his mother was an Alabama Racking Horse, but we have no knowledge of his sire. He stands for trims and shoeing, grooming, baths, and insect sprays. Jasper's annuals, rabies and coggins are newly UTD and he's been pasted in the last month. He comes on the run when called and loves to lick his bucket clean. Himalayan salt blocks are a favorite. He's not a true dominant horse but is usually near the top in a herd. Come and see this flashy boy with four white stockings as we’re looking for a new home for him due to herd dispersal. He only needs to be ridden and given more attention. We have begun to work with Jasper again (see new saddled pic) and have included a short video of him racking (he is trotting at this time but normally racks).

About Alvin, TX

In Alvin's municipal election on May 7, 2016, citizens voted to elect newly relocated resident, Chris Sanger, as their At Large Position 2 city council member in the city's largest turnout in a municipal election, with 1,590 votes cast. Sanger ousted two-term incumbent, Terry Droege, with Sanger receiving 50.58% to Droege's 49.42%. Chris Sanger ran on the slogan, "Fresh Face, New Voice," while pointing out that the incumbent had a spotty attendance record to regularly scheduled council meetings, amongst other calls for accountability, such as lower property taxes, expenditure responsibility, and that police for the city of Alvin have been historically underpaid. Chris Sanger resigned in October 2017, citing a possible conflict of interest between his occupation and his position on city council. Candidate filings began the next month and on March 24, 2018, then 18-year-old Joel Castro won a special election against John Burkey to serve for the remainder of Sanger's unexpired term.
