Andalusian Gelding for Sale in Brooksville, FL

‘Once in a Blue Moon’ at home we call him Moon. Registered Andalusian gelding, massive boy standing 16.2hh and 12 years old. This great big loving guy wants nothing more in life than attention, loves to be ridden, brushed, bathed. Very very bright and willing and loves to learn new things. Extremely gentle, with humans and other horses. He is truly a diamond in the rough. Moon came to us a few weeks ago, his breeder/owner died two years ago and since then he has not been touched. Before then he was ridden dressage and alsuo trail rode. When he arrived he was in excellent weight but his skin was bad due to worms and living in swampy condition. On arrival he saw our vet who examined him and gave us an assessment. He was wormed thoroughly and given a shot to help his skin heal. Already his coat is beginning to shine and his skin heal up. He also has a capped hock, he has had it for years and does not affect him. Our vet did drain it, but said it would it probably would not go away and was purely aesthetic. It does not affect his movement and he is completely sound. He has come back to work with joy, everything we ask him to do he is happy to do. First ride, first canter, first trail ride. He is gentle to handle and mindful of his size. We feel he has unlimited potential, his sire Escudero MC is a world champion and his offspring excel in many disciplines. Moon was the horse she chose to keep!! He is being brought back to work slowly, mostly trail riding. He has absolutely no spook or buck. He is a warhorse, would not look out if place in a movie or a battle field. He would be the ultimate husband horse or fabulous dressage prospect. Papers in hand. Holding deposit accepted and shipping arranged. Located in Brooksville Florida. $10000 text for videos. 352-587-1369

About Brooksville, FL

Fort DeSoto, established about 1840 to give protection to settlers from Native Americans, was located at the northeastern edge of present-day Brooksville on Croom Road about one-half mile east of U.S. Highway 41. The fort was also a trading post and a regular stop on the Concord stagecoach line which ran from Palatka to Tampa. The fort was built on top of a heavy bed of limestone, a fact which they were unaware of at the time. This made it exceedingly difficult to obtain water, thus causing the location to be abandoned.
