Missouri Fox Trotter Mare for Sale in Lampasas, TX

Sure Luck's Spotted Ivy is a beautiful black and white tobiano filly born in the summer of 2016. She is registered MFTHBA. Both of Ivy's parents are 15.2HH and stocky so this girl will be nice and big when she is done maturing! She is already 14.3HH at almost 2 years old. Ivy is halter broke, ties, is good for the farrier, ponies off of an ATV, and can be easily caught on 300+ acres. She has been saddled and bridled some but has not been ridden yet. Ivy is homozygous for BOTH tobiano and black! That means that if she were bred in the future she would produce 100% tobiano foals and would never produce a chestnut based foal no matter what stallion she is bred to. She has not been tested but is also highly likely homozygous for the gait-keeper gene. **Ivy's left front leg does turn out very slightly. If it weren't for this she would be priced much higher. We had her vet checked when she was a foal and had x-rays done. The vet said she was positioned poorly in the womb and that is the cause. It is NOT genetic and will not be passed on to any future foals she may have. Both of her parents and her full brother have perfectly straight legs. Ivy is perfectly sound and gaits around happily out in the pasture. She should be completely fine for general pleasure and trail riding in the future just nothing excessive like long distance endurance riding. Video on our website TXMFT . com

About Lampasas, TX

For his services in the Texas Revolution, John Burleson received 1,280 acres (5.2 km 2) of land and established a permanent settlement in the 1850s. The city was first named Burleson; however, the name was gradually changed to Lampasas Springs because of the existence of seven mineral springs. When the county was created in 1856, the law specified “The county seat shall be same name as the county.” The city of Lampasas was officially incorporated in 1883. Several theories attempt to explain how the name Lampasas came to be. The Texas Almanac states the word came from a Spanish word for “lilies” found in nearby streams.
