Friesian Gelding for Sale in Russellville, AR

Meet Ranger! Ranger is the horse that everyone dreams of (and yes, I’ve had dreams about him since I started riding him? ). This guy is a special horse, and one that is a fantastic prospect for basically any discipline. Ranger is a sweet, sweet boy on the ground. He gladly stands for tacking, bathing, grooming, and braiding his beautiful mane and tail. He picks up all four feet lightly and politely, and loves his people. He is a very loveable dude and loves to have his chin scratched (he loves all scratches, but the chin is his sweet spot). Under saddle, I am not even sure where to begin. He stands for mounting like a statue, and is the perfect balance of whoa and go. He responds well to leg, but is not too sensitive. He responds extremely well to voice commands, like a cluck and a whoa. He steers great, takes his corners very well, will do figure 8’s and serpentines across the arena as well. His flatwork is as close to perfect as it can be for a young guy his age. He has a lovely balanced trot, which he carrie’s a great pace in without constant nagging. He rides VERY light in the bridle. He doesn’t lean or pull, and doesn’t fuss over the bit. He rides in a rubber D-ring snaffle. This guy has the lope off of a lifetime. He has a very balanced, big strided four beat canter, and canters off from the walk. Ranger has also been started on his lead changes, and has flying changes both directions. They will easily become auto with time. Ranger has taken a liking to jumping more than we could’ve ever hoped for. He is currently schooling 2’-2’3” courses, and has jumped up to 2’6” singles. He shows plenty of athleticism, scope, and interest to go higher. I could easily see him making up to be an outstanding eventer, fox hunter, or play in the equitation ring (lands his leads easy peasy) or the jumpers (if you don’t mind wearing a small spur to keep him up to speed?). He is incredibly talented, intelligent and willing. His possibilities are endless. He is also comfortable and educated enough on the flat to start his career in the dressage arena. Now onto his many other talents… Ranger rides outside of the arena as well! He trail rides, and doesn’t mind traffic, crossing ditches, mailboxes, houses, and he doesn’t mind dogs either! (Helloooo fox hunters?) Honestly, anything you want to do he will do it. He rides alone or with others, leads or follows, stands in the ring while others ride around, and he likes cows (yes. he THOROUGHLY enjoyed his visit with the cows?)! Ranger has also been driven.

About Russellville, AR

Before the town was named Russellville, it was known as Chactas Prairie, The Prairie, or Cactus Flats. In the early 19th century, Osage from Missouri hunted frequently in the valley where Russellville is located. Between 1818 and 1828, the area was within a Cherokee reservation, but after 1828 the Cherokee were removed to Indian Territory (present-day Oklahoma), and the land became available for white settlement. The first settler in the area was P.C. Holledger in 1834.
