Missouri Fox Trotter Gelding for Sale in Licking, MO

OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY DOT COM. SALE ENDS ON 7/24 @ 1PM CT. More information available on the website including an UTD vet inspection, coggins, registration papers, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come visit. I would like to introduce you to Southern Jester, aka Chester. Chester is a 4yr old sorrel Missouri Foxtrotter gelding. He is sired by 2-time World Grand Champion and Hall of Fame Jester’s Charming Legend, one of the top breeding sires in the breed, if not the best IMO. Chester is a super cool young gelding who I have really enjoyed training and working with. He is now ready to move on and become someone’s forever horse, with his whole life ahead of him. Chester is a breeze to work with and will absolutely try anything you throw at him. He will cross water, logs, and bridges. Will stand tied all day, stands great for the farrier (on a 6-week schedule), stands for a bath, stands to clip bridle path, ears, and all 4 feet. He is a very in-your-pocket-type horse, curious about what is going on. If you go to the barn, he will be the first to walk in and see what’s happening. Easy to catch, saddle, and no bad habits. Never once tried to buck, bite, kick or rear. He has been ridden from the youngest 8yrs old (my son) to my 74 yr old grandpa. Chester has ridden many miles on the trails, including riding in the St Judes benefit ride. He will ride in the front, back or middle. Will also ride alone or with a big group. I would trust him with anyone that knows how to ride and handle a horse. He does like to go and is not lazy. Can mount from the right or left side and with or without a mounting block. Walks, trots, or canters, I don’t canter much because I don’t feel like that’s what a foxtrotter is for, but he will if you want. He backs great, loads and unloads from trailers, and can open gates off of him. I can’t say enough good about this fine young gelding except come to see him and try him for yourself!! You won’t be disappointed; he is a family favorite, and everyone is sad to see him go.

About Licking, MO

The community was named for a mineral lick near the original town site. An early variant name was "Buffalo Lick". Licking experienced growth after the South Central Correctional Center opened in June 2000, which doubled the population from the 2000 Census to the 2010 Census. Also, a small Amish community moved from Berne, Indiana to Licking starting in 2009. As of the census of 2010, there were 3,124 people, 634 households, and 397 families living in the city.
