Duncan is an eager-to-please 16-year-old Appendix with a winning history in both dressage and eventing. In 2016, he was Champion in the USDF JR/YR Training Level Championship and First Level Reserve Champion. He has trained through Second Level. In 2019, he was sold to a young eventer and quickly learned to jump. At the Cobblestone Farms Derby in the fall of 2020, he won the Beginner Novice division. The following year, the duo placed second in two USEA events and qualified for the American Eventing Championships.
Duncan is a quick learner and loves a challenge. Due to arthritis in one knee, we've decided to retire him from showing. He would make a very suitable trail horse or a low-level dressage horse. He can handle 30 minutes of flat work three days a week but is best if he's rested between days.
Duncan has been stabled over the past few years, but he loves being outside and would be fine with 24/7 turnout. He currently wears front shoes for jumping but did his best dressage work barefoot. He does require some medicine to deal with the arthritic knee and has been priced with this maintenance in mind.
Temperament-wise, Duncan is a 4 or 5. He is spunky and loves to play with other geldings. No vices. Stands well for the vet and farrier. He is quite forward under saddle, and may not be suitable as a school horse, but would do well with an intermediate rider.

About Dexter, MI
The area was first settled in 1824, 13 years before Michigan became a state, when land speculator Samuel W. Dexter purchased a large tract of land and originated the village. It was known as "Mill Creek Settlement" until the village was platted in 1830, when its name was officially changed to Dexter. Mill Creek and the Huron River, which form much of the western and northeastern boundaries of the city, respectively, have long been valuable resources to Dexter. A sawmill was built in 1827, a woolen mill in 1838, a grist mill in 1844, and a cider mill in 1886.
