Trakehner Mare for Sale in Sealy, TX

Faith Rio was rescued at auction and then turned out into a pasture. Faith was donated to Bluebonnet by her rescuer. She has a quiet personality, enjoys being near people, and really wants to please. Faith Rio’s foster home sent her DNA to Texas A&M to determine her breed. Her possible breeds were Trakehner (1st), Tennessee Walking Horse (2nd) and Quarter Horse (3rd). Faith Rio competed in the Non Pro Under Saddle Division of the Fall 2021 Rescue Horse Training Challenge. Faith Rio didn't appear to have had much formal training when she arrived at Bluebonnet. Now she has all the basics down plus some! She loves to be groomed! She walks, trots, lopes, backs up, and sidepasses under saddle. She trailers quietly. She is learning the basic liberty skills. She can also do various obstacles, such as a teeter totter bridge, standing on a pedestal, and a rolling bridge, as well as walking over fairly large logs. Faith Rio will make someone a wonderful trail or show horse!

About Sealy, TX

San Felipe, Texas, sold part of its original 22,000-acre (8,900 ha) township to the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad to create Sealy in 1879. Sealy gets its name after business tycoon and majority stock holder of the GCSF RR, George Sealy of Galveston. In 1881, Daniel Haynes, a cotton gin builder, filled a request for a cotton-filled mattress which started a company. He named this the Sealy Mattress Company after the town. Business grew exponentially, which led to more innovation and several patents, such as a machine that compressed cotton.
