Arabian Mare for Sale in Lincoln, NE

AVAILABLE ON THEHORSEBAY.COM Shylan is a lovely mare who’s refined features yet stocky build makes for a wonderful riding horse. She is thoughtful and intelligent, as you can tell from her eyes, and she is incredibly athletic. Standing 14.2, she is ideal for a smaller rider. But don’t let her size fool ya; she’s strong as they come and has great endurance. Shylan was started as a three-year-old by a trainer in western colorado. She was originally started as a western dressage horse. While Shylan excels in the arena, she has also done a significant amount of trail riding. From Kebler Pass to McInnis Canyon, to the Grand Mesa, Shylan has been trail-ridden throughout Colorado. She has amazingly tough feet and has never come up lame after a ride. She is kept barefoot. Shylan also spent a month working on a ranch in South Dakota as part of her training. Here she was used as a ranch horse, and her practical skills increased greatly. Shylan stands to be brushed, bathed, for the farrier, for the vet, and has impeccable ground manners. She is very respectful on the ground. Shy loads in any trailer and backs out. She is great to take camping, and she will tie at the trailer, a tree, a Highline, etc. Shylan has no health issues at this time and is in great overall condition. Shylan is a Singlefoot Arabian Cross. Her Sire was a Singlefoot Stallion and had a reputation for being a fantastic riding horse. His gait was smooth as can be, and he turned heads wherever he went. Her Dam is a quarter horse paint/Arabian. This horse was used for endurance rides, backcountry horseman’s club, search and rescue, and NATRC. Shylan comes from two great horses. I would like to see Shylan go to an intermediate to advanced home. She is great on the trail, but she is a big mover and needs a rider that is comfortable with this. She is also very skilled in the arena and could go any discipline.

About Lincoln, NE

Prior to the expansion westward of settlers, the prairie was covered with buffalo grass. Plains Indians, descendants of indigenous peoples who occupied the area for thousands of years, lived in and hunted along Salt Creek. The Pawnee, which included four tribes, lived in villages along the Platte River. The Great Sioux Nation, including the Ihanktowan-Ihanktowana and the Lakota, located to the north and west, used Nebraska as a hunting and skirmish ground, although they did not have any long-term settlements in the state. An occasional buffalo could still be seen in the plat of Lincoln in the 1860s.
