Thoroughbred Stallion for Sale in Rock, MI

Mick's Star is a 5yo 16hh TB stallion looking for a career as a racing or sporthorse sire, or become a gelding and move into a possible flatwork type career! With 18 starts and over $200k in earnings, Mick is a class horse with a royal pedigree and his own success to prove it. While he is aware that he is a full boy, he is polite and easy to handle. He has not been collected or bred as of now. Mick has no vices and is happy in a stall or turned out, currently next to geldings with a mare paddock in close vicinity. My students can easily handle him and enjoy giving him baths and riding him on the flat once or twice a week. He had a hock injury on the track last year, and was extensively rehabbed for 8 months in KY under the direction of a vet. He has been off stall rest since the beginning
... more»of July, turned out 24/7, and remains sound while barefoot in light work. He is not suited for a jumping career, but may be well suited for a dressage career, trail riding, or other flatwork endeavors. He is brave, quiet natured, and has an incredible uphill canter that feels like heaven! If desired, Mick can be gelded at the expense of the buyer and remain at my farm for the recovery.

About Rock, MI

Rock was first settled in 1865 by Chicago and North Western Railway workers. J.R. Steele bought land in the community from the railroad in 1866 and settled there, and George English built a store there in the same year. The community was originally called Malton Spur, and a post office called Malton operated from March 28, 1879 to April 30, 1883; Henrietta Crawford served as postmaster of this post office. The community was then renamed Maple Ridge, but changed its name again to Rock when applying for a new post office.
