Quarter Horse Gelding for Sale in Grand Junction, CO

A great looking gelding, originally from the 6666 Ranch, in Guthrie, TX, he is an own son of Mr Jess Perry and out of a cutting-bred mare (Dual Pep, Peppy San Badger, Doc O'Lena). He is built like Mr Jess Perry and cowy like his cutting bloodlines. 15 hands and 1,200lbs, 13 years old, he's totally sound and has great feet and bone. No buck or cold back. He has a super soft mouth, a very light handle and he rates with a shift of your weight in your saddle. He has been used for ranch work in TX and CO, has been pasture roped on, patterned on the barrels, trail riding and just general riding. He as not been used hard at all and is very, very clean. He's got a lot of heart, is very smart, has a pretty sensitive mind and is a "thinking" kind of horse. He is a kind horse, has a soft eye...and he loves women. He is strong and athletic. He's just been turned out and wants to go back to work. He's a nice, nice horse. Located in western Colorado.

About Grand Junction, CO

In September 1881 the former Ute Indian Territory was abolished and the Utes forced into a reservation so that the U.S. government could open the area to white settlers. Clinton County, Pennsylvania-born George Addison Crawford (1827–91) soon purchased a plot of land. On July 22, 1882, he incorporated the town of Grand Junction and planted Colorado's first vineyard near Palisade, Colorado, causing the area to become known as the Colorado Wine Country. Grand Junction also has a storied past with gunfighters, miners, and early settlers of the American Southwest.
