Carriage Horse for Sale

Maybelle is a 15 year old, 15 hand spotted draft mare who has been a wonderful friend to me for the past several years. She loves driving best, I have used her in the past to give carriage rides around my farm and she did a lovely job. She is great to drive, I would often let my little nieces and nephews drive and she is just great for them. She can be ridden, but from what I can tell she does not have much training as a riding horse, but she is certainly teachable. Even without learning anything new, she is lots of fun to ride around bareback in a field or a paddock. I have an english saddle for her and I used her as a pony ride horse every summer for farm camp, as well letting lots of young, inexperienced riders ride her in a paddock. In my experience she’s a little more “slow than go” when she is being ridden, but she will trot around for hours with her carriage. She is very hard to startle. She is awesome with kids, dogs, cars, firetrucks (we live across from the fire station), beach umbrellas, other horses and really any odd situation I have put her in. She is great for the vet and farrier, sound and well behaved. I am selling her because I am not giving carriage rides anymore and I would like to have the space for a second riding horse for my nieces and nephews who are turning into independent riders, Maybelle is just too big for them to learn on.
