Gelding for Sale in Georgetown, TX

Azure Rey was barely halter broke when he came to Bluebonnet, but he was sweet and willing. He spent three months in the fall of 2018 with trainer Benjamin Arreguin to be started under saddle for the Training Challenge, where he did well, and placed sixth in the professional division. For the 2019 Training Challenge, he spent almost 4 months with trainer Darrell Gardner. They worked to build on the basics he acquired last year. They have worked in the arena, out on trail rides, down the road side, and out at public events to build Azure Rey’s skills and experience. Azure Rey has been ridden in the arena, on trails and in an open pasture. He is solid at the walk and trot, but still needs some finishing work at the canter. He has been ridden both English and western by a teen rider. He picks up his feet, stands for tack up, loads in a trailer and has good ground manners. He would do best with a novice working with a trainer or an intermediate rider. He would be an excellent playday horse or low level english show horse. He is well built and stocky and has smooth movement under saddle. He has loads of potential and a sweet disposition! Some lucky adopter is going to get a horse with great basics that they can finish out to the job of their choosing!

About Georgetown, TX

Georgetown has been the site of human habitation since at least 9,000 BC, and possibly considerably before that. The earliest known inhabitants of the county, during the late Pleistocene (Ice Age), can be linked to the Clovis culture, a Paleo-Indian culture characterized by the manufacture of distinctive "Clovis points" that first appeared around 9200 BC, and possibly as early as 11,500 BC, at the end of the last glacial period. One of the most important discoveries in recent times is that of the ancient skeletal remains dubbed the "Leanderthal Lady" because of its age and proximity to a nearby community Leander, Texas. The site is immediately southwest of Georgetown and was discovered by accident by Texas Department of Transportation workers while core samples for a new highway were being drilled. The site has been extensively studied for many years, and samples carbon date the findings to the Pleistocene period, about 10,500 years ago (8500 BC).
