Appendix Mare for Lease in Corrales, NM

Looking for a horse to lease for trails, build riding confidence, lessons, or small events? I have an 11 year old American Appendix mare (TBxQH), located at a stable in Corrales, off Loma Larga. She's my personal horse, her name is "Rebel", stands 15.3hh, AAHA registered, rides out English, Western, and bareback. I have tack and equipment (both disciplines) you can use, or you are welcome to bring your own. "Rebel" is a GREAT all around horse, one handed neck or a direct rein, moves off a leg, and stands quiet for a saddle, mount, and dismount. She's level headed, and no buck, rear, bite, or kick ever, very easy to catch in pasture, and LOVES people. She's a very pretty and big mover in all three gaits, has a few events under her belt from before I had her, and she will jump over anything you ask on the trail, but I have yet to test that extensively in the arena. She needs a rider who already has some confidence and control in the saddle (intermediate, confidant inter-, or advanced) as she's got the power and speed of a TB, and she knows it. She has been ridden, or worked in the round pen 3-4 times a week over the past 3 months, riding done mostly in the arena and along the trails on Loma Larga. I will not have the time to keep up with this in the coming weeks, and need someone to keep her in shape. Riding a minimum of 2 times per week is required, max of 5 times a week. Stable also has a large arena and round pen you are welcome to, and there are small jumps and poles to set up if you want, or need, to work on something specific. References welcome, but not required, as I will require a test ride at the stable before an agreement is made. (ON PROPERTY LEASE!) *Beginners welcome for lessons with a trainer on-site*

About Corrales, NM

The village of Corrales (Spanish for "corrals") is located along the Rio Grande river and is built on the site of two Indian Pueblos settled before 500 AD by the Tiguex Indians, and which were later occupied by Spanish Colonists and explorers who colonized the region around 1540 AD. The pueblo indians who lived in the area abandoned it by the late 1600s when the Spanish settled permanently in New Mexico. The Spanish Colonists subsequently built an adobe church on the site called the Church of San Ysidro in 1868 AD, named after the annual fiesta de San Ysidro in May. In 1710, a grant of the Alameda lands (including Corrales) was given to Corporal Francisco Montes Vigil, A soldier in the Spanish army. Vigil sold it in 1712 to Captain Juan Gonzáles Bas who was then living in Bernalillo.
