Appendix Gelding for Sale in Hopkinton, MA

Bear is stunning in appearance, very gentle on the ground and has loads of personality. From babies to older folks, Bear is always the first to approach to gently sniff and say hello. He loves to be scratched and loved on. Bear gets along great with other horses, and loves to be in a herd. He leads well and loves going on trail walks (not ridden) with other horses. He free lunges in a round pen extremely well with vocal commands…and on command even stops and backs. He’s very smart and a fast learner! At his vet checkup on April 30, it was revealed that Bear has kissing spine, as well as possible navicular/arthritis pain in his front feet. Therefore, Bear is not rideable. During this same vet visit, he also had his springtime vaccinations and his teeth floated, and sheath cleaned, and otherwise is in great health. He is barefoot and gets trimmed every five weeks. He cross-ties, loads into the trailer well, and stands quietly for the barefoot trimmer. Bear is an extremely social horse and would be an excellent companion horse or pasture pal with other horses, but unfortunately he is not safe to ride. Looking to re-home him to the ideal forever home with someone who will love him and take excellent care of him.

About Hopkinton, MA

The town of Hopkinton was incorporated on December 13, 1715. Hopkinton was named for an early colonist of Connecticut, Edward Hopkins, who left a large sum of money to be invested in land in New England, the proceeds of which were to be used for the benefit of Harvard University. The trustees of Harvard purchased land from the Native American residents with money from the fund and incorporated the area, naming it in honor of its benefactor. Grain was the first production crop grown in the area, while fruit and dairy industries were developed later. Agriculture predominated until 1840 when the boot and shoe industries were introduced into the town.
