Paint Gelding for Sale in Fairfax, MN

“Let’s Talk Highstakes”(APHA) is a chromed out, gorgeous 7 year old gelding with Playgirls Conclusion, Sonny Dee Bar, and Impressive bloodlines! Standing just over 15h, this big guy is well-built, sound, and easy to get along with. While he is NOT a beginner’s horse; I believe someday he certainly could be! I have owned him for the last 6 years. He was started and trained at Birch Coulee Arena in Morton, MN for 30 days roughly 5 years ago. After that I had knee surgery and he sat for about 3 years. For last 2 years, I have again been working him. He has been exposed to four-wheelers, farm equipment, and traffic on a routine basis. He isn’t very spooky but requires a confident rider due to his immature nature and his lack of professional training experience. Sometimes his ADD kicks in and he doesn’t like to stand still, even though he’ll stand tied. He is also very food motivated. Stands for farrier, vet, bathes, grooms, trailers, and cinches just fine. At times he does crow hop, but it’s always pretty pathetic and easy to ride out. It’s never lasted more than a few seconds and he’s easy to get back in line. I’m also not a trainer so I do the best I can in reprimanding/riding him. We’ve always managed through whatever situations we’ve faced. But he will need to continue to work on his ground manners and continue his training. Recently in July I took him camping in a very primitive location in Keystone, SD. We rode Harney’s Peak and Mt. Rushmore without one issue! He did fantastic! We rode for approximately 8 to 9 hours each day. It was also the first time he had ever been shod. He handled the rocks and elevation like he had been doing it regularly. He is also a great drinker! Getting this horse to drink water will never be an issue as he loves all water. He’s crossed water, bridges, pulled a dummy steer for riding practice, ridden in town, and used at a public school FFA show and been on many overnight camping adventures. I’ve also roped a dummy steer off of him but never roped or pulled a real one. He’s usually the curious personality and is usually willing to try what you ask. Easy to catch and loves attention! Asking $2,000 obo. Please PM me if interested or call (507) 766-2939.
