Quarter Horse Gelding for Sale in Van alstyne, TX
'Boomer' An 8yo grade gelding. Standing 15 hands tall. Flea bitten grey . This guy is super easy to get along with. He has smooth gates,a nice neck rein ,moves off your feet and knows his leads. He is currently being used in a preconditioning yard and feedlot. ( sorting, penning and gathering cattle and doctoring a few) He will side pass for you to open/close gates. He's not spooky and not a bronc. Boomer would make a great cowboy horse or go on to fit a family as well. About Van alstyne, TX
Van Alstyne was built in 1872, for settlers to be near the railroad stop of the Houston and Texas Central Railway. The town was named for either William A. Van Alstyne, a civil engineer with the railroad, or for Marie Van Alstyne, a shareholder in the railroad company. The town was incorporated in 1890. Per a Van Alstyne Leader Newspaper Article Sept 3 2015 the Outlaw "Bushwhacker Bill" Wilson, on whom the Clint Eastwood movie "The Outlaw Josie Wales" is based, was murdered somewhere in the vicinity of either the intersection of Texas Hwy 5 and Prong Creek 1 mile North of Van Alstyne or South of Van Alstyne halfway to the old ghost town of Mantua.
