Oldenburg Stallion for Sale in Herkimer, NY
"Rafiki" is a talented, athletic 6 yo TBxOldenburg gelding,
 15. 3h, chestnut w / blaze and 2 socks, big - boned. Green broke,
W / T / C, good mover, started over jumps and on trails. Very honest
to the jumps. Brave on trails, led the way across water on his first
time out! Doesn't buck, rear, spin, or take off. Very good groundwork,
he will sidepass, turn on haunches / forehand, back, walk over tarps,
stand with a tarp on him, and more in - hand, also lunges very well.
Smart horse, learns quickly, good personality, loves attention, easy to
work around. Has potential to do well at hunters, jumpers, dressage,
trails, hunter paces - finish him your way!

UTD on shots, worming, and shoeing. Was barefoot all winter without
issue, currently has front shoes on for trail riding.

Selling because I need a horse that will happily go out on trails alone
and he prefers to do ring work or trail ride with company.

                    About Herkimer, NY
Herkimer was first settled around 1722, in an area originally called "Stone Ridge", now the village of Herkimer. Early settlers were primarily German Palatines. Johan Jost Herchheimer, a farmer who also engaged in trade and transport on the Mohawk River, settled in the German Flatts District of Albany County in 1725, on the south side of the Mohawk River, within the present-day town of German Flatts, incorporated in 1788. He owned 5,000 acres (20 km 2) of the land, including a strategic portage around Little Falls on the Mohawk, where his eldest son Nicholas Herkimer established a farmstead. In 1788, the town of Herkimer, on the north side of the river, was incorporated and named after him.
