Captain is a very great gelding with great saddle, ground, and pasture
manners. He loves people and loves to trail ride. He is very calm and
laid back and does great for every rider that has ridden him. Have used
him for lessons. Great horse. He is 15 years old, and has been in the
show ring, he rides like he is impressing a judge all the time with his
head tucked, and his beautiful movements. He is gaited but also has
normal movements. He walks, jogs, trot, gait, then has a very smooth
easy rocking horse canter.

Founded in 1824, Byron received its first postmaster in 1837. One of the only towns in the county, Byron was the last stop on a stagecoach run from Detroit that ran west along what is now Rose Center road and Silver Lake road. The Village of Byron was incorporated in 1873. The Toledo, Ann Arbor & Northern Michigan Railway was built through Byron following the pledge of a $15,001. bonus and the right of way, in 1885.
