Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Greenup, KY

Gorgeous color on this nicely built cow bred filly - has a whale of a back end and chest! She is colored right to get noticed with dark points and head and striking blue roan color. Great attitude! Goes to work, gets down to business - shows high potential for cow work. Could also be a great western pleasure, trail, or reining prospect. She needs someone who knows how to finish her right - has a good solid start on her. Not a beginner horse but may work for someone with a trainer's help. She crossties, loads, stands for vet and farrier. Loves to be messed with - working on clipping without restraint - but might still need a twitch for now. She went to a parade and did very well. Been around cattle and is confident - not spooky. Please email or call for details or more photos! Negotiable to the right home.

About Greenup, KY

Greenup was laid out in 1803 and 1804 by Robert Johnson, a pioneer and legislator who owned the land. Upon the formation of Greenup County (named for the former congressman Christopher Greenup, who later served as governor) out of land separated from Mason County, Johnson's settlement was chosen to be the seat of government and adopted the name "Greenupsburg". Its post office was erected on July 1, 1811. The state assembly formally established the town on February 4, 1818, and incorporated the city thirty years later on February 29, 1848. The name was shortened to "Greenup" on March 13, 1872, partially to avoid confusion with Greensburg.
