Thoroughbred Mare for Sale in Ontario, OR

AWB Gold Medallion Winning Mare at American Warmblood Inspection. 90 days professional training, greenbroke - needs riding. This mare has rolling, fluid gaits, lovely uphill build, and excellant bone and topline. She was well started with a soft responsive mouth, but due to owner's illness has been used primarily as a top broodmare; producing competitive WB and TB foals in both the Endurance Racing, Dressage and Hunter - Jumper arena. Excellant barn manners, leads, clips, bathes, loads, trims, etc. Owner feels that with her potential she should be in a barn where her athletic abilities can be put to use in both the arena and broodbarn. Never been raced but solid pedigree of athletic "black type winning" sire lines and dam lines, including Regal Flier, Majestic Light, Penny Flight, Montparnasse II, Gulf Stream, In My Fashion, etc. Experienced horse rider / owner best.

About Ontario, OR

Ontario was founded on June 11, 1883, by developers William Morfitt, Mary Richardson, Daniel Smith, and James Virtue. In March 1884, Richard Welch started a post office for the quarter of Ontario, so named by James Virtue after Ontario, Canada. Two months later Joseph Morton applied for a Morton post office at an island about one mile south of town, with Oscar Scott as postmaster. Unfortunately for Morton and Scott, merchants Morfitt and Richardson of Malheur City, gold miner Virtue, and lumberman Smith of Baker City acquired more land and were better financed. More importantly, Morfitt had negotiated a train depot for Ontario.
