Pony of the Americas Gelding for Sale in Edgewood, NM

Marble, an absolutely adorable 13.2 hand Pony of the Americas gelding born in approximately 2012, is now available for adoption through Cross Country Horse Rescue! Marble is a little guy with a BIG heart! In our time with him, we have found him to be a very intelligent, willing, and kind-hearted animal who wants nothing more than to be loved and trusted, and to have his own person to bond with. Although Marble can be particular about other horses he is turned out with, he behaves very well with others when he is either in-hand or under saddle. We have ridden him on a number of trails, including those with rocky slopes, and he maneuvers them with confidence and ease. He is extraordinarily sure-footed and dependable, and is happy to ride out alone or with companions. He has mastered the obstacle course, and has been desensitized to a large number of objects, situations, and environments. Marble has excellent ground manners, is easy to catch, stands tied, adores being groomed, is good for the farrier, loads well in a trailer, and although he is grade he does qualify for registration as a Pony of the Americas (please visit www.poac.org for details.....registration application will be included with adoption). We really could go on and on about what a special guy Marble is! The key, however, to a successful relationship with him is confidence and trust....both in yourself as a rider and in Marble as your horse. In our experience Marble will give 110% to a rider who believes in him, but he may not respond equally to a fearful or distrustful rider or handler. Because of this, Marble will be best-suited for an intermediate rider, or a confident advanced beginner. He simply does not respond as positively to a rider who does not believe in him. Horses sense the emotions and feelings of those around them, and Marble needs his person to see him for who he is....an amazing and kind-hearted little horse looking for his perfect partner! Marble is available for adoption with an adoption contract through Cross Country Horse Rescue, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. His adoption donation fee is $1,300, and EVERY DOLLAR goes directly back into the rescue and rehabilitation of horses in need. For more information and lots of pictures, please see his listing on the Cross Country website at https://www.crosscountryhorserescue.org/marble. And if you think you may be a good match for him, please call, text, or e-mail us to learn more and to arrange a time to come meet this fantastic little horse!

About Edgewood, NM

Homesteaders moving into the American West created the initial settlements that grew into what is now the town of Edgewood. Taking advantage of the federal Homestead Acts, pioneer families obtained land claims and began farming and ranching in the Edgewood area during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Edgewood was founded by a group of southern Santa Fe County residents and landowners. After the incorporation of the town in 1999, large areas of land were annexed. Efforts by the town government to avoid annexing properties whose owners did not wish to be brought within the town boundaries resulted in a checkerboard pattern of incorporated and unincorporated properties, one of the issues to be resolved in the town's Comprehensive Plan.
