Quarter Horse Stallion for Sale in Raleigh, NC

Bruce (AQHA registration pending: NCSU Leos Bartender) is a colt born February 9, 2017. He was weaned May 18th and has been eating hay and grain well. Bruce is up to date on deworming and hoof care and will receive his first round of core vaccinations on June 9th (at 4 months of age). Bruce has been handled weekly since birth and has been working on leading, picking up his hooves, and grooming. He has a classic stocky Quarter Horse build and has been pleasant to work with. Bruce's sire, BB Leo Hangten Peppy, is a buckskin stallion with his Register of Merit in reining. He also finished in the top five at Congress on three separate occasions. Bruce's grandsire, Hang Ten Surprize, earned over $133,000 at NRHA competitions and has multiple champion and reserve champion titles. Bruce's dam, Rockin Hot Barmaid, is a brown mare that competed as a barrel racer. She is on site and can be viewed by appointment. Bruce will be sold via sealed bid auction from the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine's Teaching Animal Unit. Bids will be accepted June 12-23, 2017. Weekday appointments can be made to view Bruce (and his dam, if desired) in person during that time period as well. For more information and a copy of the bid sheet, please e-mail Katie at jkpearce@ncsu.edu. First two photos are of Bruce, taken May 24th. Second two photos are of his sire, BB Leo Hangten Peppy, and are used with permission from Blackburn Farms.

About Raleigh, NC

Bath, the oldest town in North Carolina, was the first nominal capital of the colony from 1705 until 1722, when Edenton took over the role. The colony had no permanent institutions of government until the new capital New Bern was established in 1743. In December 1770, Joel Lane successfully petitioned the North Carolina General Assembly to create a new county. On January 5, 1771, the bill creating Wake County was passed in the General Assembly. The county was formed from portions of Cumberland, Orange, and Johnston counties.
