Mule Gelding for Sale in Okemah, OK
“Sunny” is simply one of the good ones. He has been my go-to mule for a couple of years now. I’m offering him through no fault of his own. I enjoy getting good young mules on the right track with a solid foundation and sending them on to their forever home. “Sunny” is ready for his.
Sunny has been an absolute pleasure to have around. He is easy to handle, be around, and catch. He is great for the farrier, easy to bathe, and stands tied. He loads easily and stands to be saddled like one should.
Standing at 16.1 h, Sunny has the kind of stride anyone would enjoy on those long mountain trail rides. You spend a day on him in the trails, and it’s like a day in grandma’s rocking chair, just nice and easy.
I have ridden Sunny out on trails alone on multiple trips. He has been hauled all over the Gunnison, CO area, all over Oklahoma, and Arkansas; all trail riding. Sunny is made for the mountains!!
Sunny is not complicated to ride; he has the kind of handle that just about anyone can get along with. He will lay down to mount/dismount and will pick you up off of just about anything to mount. He would be fine with walking trails every day of his life and will trot nicely. Sunny is not pushy and has great ground manners. Sunny has crossed bridges; he will step over logs, walk through creeks, and he is also good with his ears.
I have spent nearly every day for 2 years with this mule; I know exactly what he is and what he is not. I encourage everyone interested in him to give me a call and let’s discuss if he’s a good fit for you! He’s had his teeth floated and will be standing on fresh shoes when he ships or is picked up.

About Okemah, OK
Historically occupied by the Osage and Quapaw, who ceded their lands to the United States by 1825, the area was assigned to the Creek Nation and specifically the Thlopthlocco Tribal Town after Indian Removal of tribes from the Southeast United States in the 1830s. Okemah was named after a Kickapoo Indian chief. In March 1902, Chief Okemah built a bark house in his tribe's traditional fashion. He had come to await the opening of the townsite, which took his name on April 22, 1902. In the Kickapoo language, okemah means "things up high," such as highly placed person or town or high ground.
