Name: UC Evergreen Breed: Morgan Registration: AMHA Age: 2024 Gender: Gelding Color: Bay Height: 14.3hh; expected ~15hh Notes: UC Evergreen, “Cedar”, is a bay 2024 Morgan gelding standing 14.3hh (expected 15-15.1hh) sired by Battersea Xanadu (Chief of State x Battersea Ouida) and out of UC Holiday Rose (Rosevale Leggo x UC Holiday Pride). Battersea Xanadu has an impressive cross of Government and Lippitt lines. Xanadu won multiple in-hand classes in the Old Dominion Morgan and Mid Atlantic Morgan horse shows as a young stallion. Xanadu’s accomplishments led him to sire multiple quality foals who show promise in the Hunter/Jumpers, Dressage, Western Pleasure, Driving, and trail riding. Cedar’s grandsire, Rosevale Leggo, has a very extensive show record, excelling in sport horse classes and dressage through third level. His dam, UC Holiday Rose, has produced multiple quality foals, all of which show potential or have been successful in hunter and dressage disciplines. Cedar is doing well with age-appropriate groundwork. He stands for the vet and farrier, loads, and has been desensitized to tack; including saddle, girth, surcingle, and bitted bridle. Cedar lunges at the walk and trot, often with tack on. He is well-versed in basic, in-hand lateral work; turn on the forehand, turn on the haunches and approaches obstacles with confidence. Cedar’s willingness and trainability will make an excellent prospect for any discipline, but his linage should make him especially successful in the sport horse disciplines. Cedar would be best suited for an advanced or intermediate rider working with a trainer. His training will continue until he is sold. Cedar is current with all vaccines, deworming, and Coggins.
