Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Fort Collins, CO
🌺Bacardi -2013 AQHA mare. She is Peptoboonsmal and Paddy’s Irish Whiskey bred. She has been in ONE home her entire life. We know her entire history, and she was born here. We still own her sire and owned her dam until she passed away.
Bacardi rides English and Western- just spent 60 days with a professional English trainer, where she was used for her lesson program. Likes the lesson horse English life. Goes over poles- lightly started over x rails. I brought her home and threw one of the COMPLETE beginner kids on her in our lesson program, and she WTC her without a problem.
She had 90 days of roping training back in 2022 and was started as a cutter. She is an amazing all-around horse who has dabbled in multiple disciplines and done it well.
She has an awesome stop and will dig her butt into the dirt when you say whoa. Rides out on the trail great. Will lead or follow and is not spooky at all. She is amazing in the mountains. Crosses water, bridges, traffic safe, and has taken beginners on the trail. She is soft and responsive.
My 3yo has ridden this mare COMPLETELY by himself. She takes amazing care of whoever is on her.
Bacardi is great for the farrier and vet. She currently has a front set of shoes on, but she has gone barefoot for most of her life without a problem. She just had her teeth floated on September 10th and has no health issues.
Bacardi has never been lame or sick in her entire life. She is an easy keeper and doesn’t currently require any maintenance.
She is easy to catch, loves scratches, and loves people. She has been stalled and in pasture. Gets along with other horses great and is NOT mareish at all. She fits in anywhere. A good home is the most important to us, and we are going to miss her terribly.
Contact me and come try her out. We want to make sure she’s a good fit for you and your family.
OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 09/30 @ 5:20 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit.

About Fort Collins, CO
Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
