🌟Meet Nico! 🌟 6-year-old Norwegian Fjord Brabant cross. Stands a solid 16.1 and is stout. Nico is a fun, all-around horse with a lot of personality! If you’re looking for a solid trail mount, dressage partner, or just a handy fancy broke horse to have around the farm, Nico would be a good fit. I’ve been working with Nico the last year and have put lots of miles, groundwork, and arena work on him. Nico is very friendly and easy to catch. He does great out on the trails, crosses water, logs, goes down steep slopes, and up steep inclines; he is sure-footed for how large he is, and he’s been on some pretty rough trails and handled them well. Nico has been on overnight camping trips and hunting camping trips; he has stood tied all night and has been ponied off. He will ride out alone, and he’s been on many group trail rides. Nico is not a spooky horse and has been out and seen a lot. He’s been desensitized to tarps, flags, cows, and dogs. Tractors, etvs. He is completely traffic-safe. Nico’s one flaw is clippers; for some reason, they scare him, so I use scissors to trim his face and bridle path. Nico will come over to you on the mounting block. He lunges both directions, backs well from the ground, and knows to back with the wiggle of the lead rope, and yields his hindquarters from the ground. Nico side passes both ways, pivots his front quarters, and yields his hindquarters. He picks up the right lead every time and has a nice slow lope. He will yield to his left and right at a trot. I have done a little jumping with him over smaller jumps. He has also done some English riding. Nico served as a lesson horse at Signature Ranch last summer; he does an amazing job with students of all levels and ages. He is a barn favorite and gets compliments wherever he goes. He stands tied, loves baths, trailers well, and backs out. He stands decently well for the farrier. Nico gets along great with other horses in the pasture or on the trail.
