Butter Bean is a joy to ride for beginners and experts alike. He will go slowly or pick up the pace, whatever you want. He has the most natural gait of any horse I’ve worked with. He will gate the same every time, whether you asked correctly or not. That is saying a lot. Much of his video is on the trails because that is what he does best. He has been ridden extensively in the Colorado mountains. He is not afraid of water, steep hills, or sudden distractions. He is extremely well-broke and experienced. His short stature makes mounting and dismounting easy throughout the day. He does well on really long rides and does not wear out. He gets noticed wherever we go. He has been ridden by a professional his entire life. He was started by Jenalee and Larry Stevens. Southern Sunrise has been the number-one breeding stallion in MFT for many years. His record speaks for itself. Larry Stevens has the very best program for young horses. They are handled from birth and beyond. They are not afraid or anxious when it becomes time to start riding. They have been handled so much and so well that training one is easier than with any other horse I train. We bought him from Larry, and he has been with us for 5 years.
