Gypsy Vanner Stallion for Sale in FL
Hermits OUC Kodiak is a beautiful 2-year-old imported silver bay dapple Gypsy Vanner stallion from the renowned Hermits Farm in England. He is an eye-catching young stallion with exceptional coloring, quality bloodlines, and a great deal of potential.
Kodiak has been in professional training for approximately a year, with his program intentionally kept age-appropriate. Because he is still young and developing, his saddle time has been limited and handled primarily by his trainer. The focus has been on groundwork, manners, responsiveness, confidence, and building a strong foundation rather than pushing him physically too soon.
His trainer reports that Kodiak is very quiet for a young stallion and has shown no significant stud-like behavior during training. He trots well in hand and is willing, intelligent, and responsive. Like many young horses his size, he is still developing awareness of his body and personal space and can occasionally be a little clumsy. He has continued to improve with consistent professional handling as he matures.
Under professional guidance, Kodiak has been introduced to walk, trot, and canter work, while his ridden workload has intentionally remained limited due to his age. He also clips, bathes, loads, stands for the farrier, and handles routine care.
Kodiak has already had his first experience in the show ring, competing in halter classes at his very first show and placing 2nd and 3rd. We were extremely proud of how he handled himself, especially considering it was his first-ever show experience. For a young stallion in a completely new environment, he handled himself well and came home with two placings, giving him a great start and valuable exposure to the show environment.
One of Kodiak’s standout features is his beautiful silver bay dapple coloring. Genetic testing confirms that he is heterozygous for Silver (n/Z), meaning he carries one copy of the Silver Dilution gene and has the ability to pass the Silver allele to his offspring. His additional color testing includes A/a Agouti and N/W20. He is N/N for the tested roan marker, LP, and PATN1. As an n/Z stallion, each foal has a 50% chance of inheriting his Silver allele, making his color genetics particularly appealing for a breeding program.
Kodiak is still very much a young horse with additional physical and mental maturity ahead of him. He would be an exciting prospect for someone seeking an imported silver bay dapple Gypsy Vanner stallion with professional training, show experience, desirable and documented color genetics, and a foundation that has been carefully developed without overworking him at a young age.
