Quarter Pony Gelding for Sale in Woodburn, KY
Where do we even start on this, once-in-a-little-while guy?! Standing 14HH & a vet-checked 9yo. Peso has worn all the hats at our place over the past 2 years. From lessons to the roping pen to extreme obstacle course youth champion & more! This amazing pony can do anything! We are his second owner. He came to us from Texas, where he was a young man’s main mount for years on a big ranch. Doctoring & checking cattle during the week & carrying him to the pay window at the ropings on the weekends. Peso excels at whatever you ask him to do. When he came to us the year before last, he was very much used to being all business. We have used him for beginner-to-advanced lessons in basic riding, guided trail rides, sorting & barrel racing. He’s become accustomed to getting loved on & groomed by little girls. He enjoys being pampered & braided. He has a nice long mane & tail. He is the most fun little guy we’ve had! In the stockyards & at the sortings, he’s an absolute blast!! Big stops & spinning around on a dime make him the most fun mount to work cattle on. He’s got lots of cow sense to him; you’ll notice in his videos him pitching his head at them, telling them to get going. He has an excellent work ethic & can go all day no matter the job he’s asked to do. Branding, dragging calves to fire, holding one alone in the pasture, you name it. He loves to work! We’ve hauled him all over KY & TN to shows & rides & he’s been the best little gentleman. He will load in or on anything, your wagon & the bed of your pickup truck included! He goes where he’s pointed. Peso has been amazing for guided & group trail rides. But he also loves going out alone with my son as his passenger. He enjoys loping down the trails at LBL to jump the occasional fallen tree & find the prettiest blue rocks. Peso is more than willing to ride off alone without a fuss. He doesn’t get herd bound. Pastures great in a group or alone. Stalls like a dream & even poops in one spot! He has lots of buttons & goes right where you point him, even if that’s on a 4’ tall flatbed trailer or into the bed of your truck. He holds the gait he’s asked to do & stops when asked. Has a beautiful backup. His one-hand neck rein makes him our pick for getting gates at the stockyard & roping cattle. Peso is a tough little feller & won’t back down from a tough job. There’s no quit in him. Peso will stand tied to a picket line for a week next to other horses without issue. Plenty of camping experience. He is bold on the trail & isn’t spooky. He will ride anywhere in the group from the front to the back without issue. We can’t say enough good things about this guy. Pony him with another horse, your side-by-side, & even your dirt bike. He stays fat on pasture & is Utd on everything. Peso does amazingly well barefoot on most all-terrain. Great for vet exams, coggins, farrier, baths, etc. Peso knows the Downunder Horsemanship fundamentals method. He pastures well with everyone. From stallions to foals. He is definitely a one-of-a-kind pony & whoever gets this handsome boy will enjoy him for years to come!! OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 08/12 @ 5:00 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit.

About Woodburn, KY
Woodburn began as a hamlet known as "Mason's Inn," which served as a stop along the stagecoach road that roughly followed what is now U.S. Route 31W. It is believed to have gotten its current name from a nearby forest that had been destroyed by fire. The L&N established a depot at the site in 1859, initially calling it "New Woodburn," but reverting simply to "Woodburn" by 1864. A townsite was platted next to the depot in 1865, and the city was incorporated the following year.
