Paint Gelding for Sale in Fort Collins, CO
Some horses are simply special, and Queso is one of those rare gems. He has been a deeply loved member of our ranch family, and finding his next home is about finding people who will appreciate the kind, dependable partner he has always been for us.
Queso is the definition of a trustworthy, family-safe horse. He is the kind you can confidently saddle up for an all-day trail ride, let the kids brush and love on, or enjoy for an afternoon in the arena. He has a calm, willing attitude and is happiest when he’s with his people. Whether he has been ridden every day or has had time off, he comes out with the same quiet, honest personality.
On the trail, Queso is steady, level-headed, and dependable. He crosses water, steps over logs, navigates rough terrain, and takes new places in stride without unnecessary drama. He is more interested in taking care of his rider than looking for reasons to be nervous, making him a wonderful confidence builder for riders of all experience levels.
In the barn, Queso is every bit as easy as he is under saddle. He’s easy to catch, enjoys attention, stands quietly for grooming, bathing, saddling, the farrier, and loads into the trailer easily. His sweet personality makes him a favorite with everyone who meets him, and he truly enjoys being part of the family.
He has been used primarily for kids’ lessons and mountain riding! He has been used for countless beginner kids camps, teaching kids how to ride (who have never even been on a horse before) and instilling confidence.
He is more whoa than go and will not go faster than he is asked!
Queso has the kind of disposition that’s becoming harder and harder to find. He has been the horse that creates memories, builds confidence, and reminds you why you fell in love with horses in the first place.
Queso is up to date on teeth floating, vaccines, wormer, farrier care, and Coggins.
This is not just another horse for sale to us; this is a horse that has been loved, cared for, and treasured. If you’re looking for a safe, honest, family partner who will happily carry riders on future adventures and become part of your family, Queso is ready to write his next chapter with you.
OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 08/05 @ 5:50 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit

About Fort Collins, CO
Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
