Percheron Mare for Sale in Highlands Ranch, CO
If you’re looking for a dependable high country trail partner that can go the distance and enjoy her job, meet Lexus. This beautiful Percheron/Quarter Horse cross mare combines the steady mindset and solid build of a draft horse with the athleticism and versatility of a Quarter Horse.
Lexus has spent countless hours on the trail and truly shines in the mountains and high country. She confidently handles steep terrain, rocky paths, creek crossings, elk, deer, moose, turkeys etc. Whether you’re heading out for a relaxing afternoon ride or an all day mountain adventure, Lexus is the kind of horse you can trust to take anyone through any terrain safely and carefully.
My husband has taken her all over many mountain trails in the area and enjoys riding her.
She is sure footed, level headed, and comfortable to ride, making her an enjoyable partner for riders that might have back issues and need a smoother horse. Lexus rides out alone or in a group, leads or follows and stands quietly when asked. She does not hesitate when pointed at obstacles and is super thoughtful on where she puts her feet.
Beyond the trail, Lexus is a pleasure to have around the barn. She is easy to be around, good for grooming and tacking, and gets along well with other horses in a mixed herd. She is up to date on vaccines, wormer, farrier care and teeth floating. She is barefoot and has incredible hard black feet that require no maintenance and no shoes.
She is also exceptional in an arena and has been used for countless beginner lessons. Being more whoa than go, the kids really have gained quite a bit of confidence on her.
Previously she was used in northern WY as a dude horse and did so well! She would make a great outfitter/ guide or dude horse.
With her striking looks, gentle disposition, and extensive mountain experience, Lexus is the kind of mare that is hard to find and even harder to replace.
She is ready to be someone’s trusted partner for years of trail riding adventures to come.

About Highlands Ranch, CO
Like many parts of the Colorado Front Range, the first residents of the area were Native Americans. The area was populated by a number of nomadic tribes, including the Ute, Cheyenne and Arapaho tribes. Because it was part of the Mississippi River Drainage Area, it was stolen by France by French explorer René-Robert Cavelier, Sieur de La Salle and it was named as part of "Louisiana" in 1682. The Spanish gained Louisiana in 1763, and returned it to France in 1801. This area of what is now Northern Douglas County, was in the Louisiana Purchase when it was sold to the United States in 1803.
