Missouri Fox Trotter Mare for Sale in Calhan, CO
If you want a classy, smooth, easy-going ride, Lucy is the horse for you. Lucy is a beautiful 5-year-old mare that anyone can ride. She is the kind of horse you can climb on and confidently ride off with, whether you are riding alone or with a group.
Lucy is traffic-safe, crosses wooden bridges with ease, goes through water willingly, and handles trails, open fields, and hills confidently. She is very sure-footed going both up and down steep terrain and has an exceptionally smooth gait with a great way of traveling. She will comfortably walk along with non-gaited horses or move out and gait with faster company.
Lucy is friendly, personable, and always easy to catch. She loads, bathes, and stands quietly to mount. She has one of the best dispositions you could ask for and truly loves attention.
Lucy is ready to find her new trail partner and would make an excellent addition to any family looking for a safe, dependable, and enjoyable riding horse.

About Calhan, CO
Calhan was established in 1888 as a water station for the now-defunct Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad, with the first steam locomotive arriving on November 5, 1888. The town was named by and for Michael Calahan, who had the contract to lay railroad tracks from the Colorado/ Kansas border to Colorado Springs. However, when the town's first U.S. Post Office opened on November 24, 1888, the middle "a" had been dropped and the town was registered as "Calhan." The town was incorporated as a Statutory Town in 1919. The town grew quickly, but it wasn't until 1906 that the Calhan Rock Island Railroad Depot was built to meet the growing needs of the area.
