Paint Gelding for Sale in Kennett Square, PA

Huckleberry Finn is a 9 coming 10yr 14-hand large paint/x pony gelding (unregistered). Finn is a true, solid citizen. He is quiet and mild-mannered enough to be a dependable lesson pony, yet sophisticated & talented enough as a show pony. He has shown successfully for years, including up through USEF Traditional Dressage at Second Level, Western Dressage Level 2, and Working Equitation through Level 2, and could easily go on. Along the way, he has taught riders from beginner to advanced levels. Finn is also happy to go out on a hack, riding bareback, and enjoys cavelletti work, jumping, and all the Obstacles involved in Working Equitation. He has good ground manners and is uncomplicated at horse shows, whether it’s a one-day show, and he has to stand tied or stabled overnight at the show grounds. Finn is more of a “push” ride than a “whoa” ride and is very level-headed when introduced to new things. (Just watch, he doesn’t try to eat new obstacles!) He stands nicely at the mounting block (or any other object one may choose to stand on to mount) and lunges well, including with riders on him for seat/position lessons. He loves baths and drinking from the hose. Great for clipping and trimming, although not a huge fan of having his ears clipped. Finn is an easy keeper, requires no maintenance, and lives on air. He currently has front shoes but could go barefoot. Stands nicely for both the Farrier & Vet. Finn would be a wonderful partner for a child or small A/A to go in any direction, as he has extensive training, has already been exposed, and is ready for the 2026 show season in any discipline! OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 05/13 @ 5:20 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit.

About Kennett Square, PA

The area to become known as Kennett Square was originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans. The town was originally called Kennet Square, with the name "Kennet", England, and "Square" coming from the original land grant from William Penn of one square mile. General Sir William Howe marched through Kennett to the Battle of Brandywine during the American Revolution. It was also known as an important part of the Underground Railroad, which helped slaves escaping to the North for freedom. Many of its prominent citizens helped slaves escape on the Underground Railroad.
