Haflinger Mare for Sale in Wilburton, OK

Wesley’s Serena RCO Stella is a lovely 8-year-old, 13.3hh registered Haflinger Mare. She is beautiful, stout, and conformationally correct. Stella is a joy to be around; she is very respectful on the ground, stands patiently tied, bathes, is good for farrier work, loads and trailers with ease. She keeps a tidy stall or is a very amicable pasture buddy. Stella has a carefully established foundation under saddle. She has a willing and intelligent mind and is ready to pursue any discipline you desire. She loves getting out on the trail and working with cattle and dogs! Stella is happy to ride out in a group or alone. She is traffic safe and crosses water confidently. Stella can be a little sensitive with her right ear when bridling abruptly; this is improving. Stella is solid in arena work, which includes walk, trot, canter, sidepass, back, and pivot. She will make a lovely pony for an intermediate or advanced rider. She has a great stop, but her engine has a little more throttle than a beginner may be ready to handle. Stella is a pleasure to work with; her kind demeanor and interest in new things provide her with the ability to go in any direction. Stella is genetically tested negative for squamous cell carcinoma. She is up to date on wormings, vaccinations, coggins, and is presently shod. OPEN BIDDING ON THEHORSEBAY.COM ENDS ON 04/22 @ 4:40 PM CT. More information is available on the website, including an UTD vet inspection, Coggins, video, images, and the owner's contact information to ask questions, request information, or make arrangements to come to visit.

About Wilburton, OK

The community now known as Wilburton was originally established as a group of settlers living around Riddle's Station, a stop for the Butterfield Overland Mail stagecoach along the trail from Fort Smith, Arkansas to Fort Worth, Texas. Riddle's Station was built in 1858 and the Overland Stage operated from 1857 to 1861. According to the Oklahoma Encyclopedia of History and Culture, it was likely named for Will Burton, a contractor and surveyor who was involved in platting the townsite and building the Choctaw Coal and Railway Company line from Wister to McAlester. According to Oklahoma Place Names, it was named after Elisha Wilbur, who was the president of the Lehigh Valley Railroad. The post office was established in 1891.
