Meet Scout, a striking 5-year-old grade sooty buckskin gelding standing 14 hands and weighing around 850 lbs. His one-of-a-kind, smoky-gold coloring turns heads everywhere he goes, and his personality seals the deal. Scout’s got that rare mix of good looks, great mind, and goofy, puppy-dog charm that makes him a barn favorite, the kind who greets you at the gate and insists on scratches before you even get the halter on. 🌟 Experience & Training Scout has been part of our lesson program for the past year, during which he’s been consistently ridden by a variety of riders and has even competed in local Gymkhanas. He’s proven himself to be calm, patient, reliable, and always willing to try. That said, we think he’d really shine as a family horse with just one or a few consistent riders who can give him the attention he loves. ✅ Walk, trot, lope with smooth transitions✅ Started on neck reining and stops well✅ Handy enough to throw a rope off of✅ Comfortable riding alone or in a group✅ Ridden both English and Western (mostly Western)✅ Introduced to the trail, just not a ton of miles yet, but we think he will thrive on the trails 🧠 Temperament & Personality Scout is naturally quiet and steady, more “whoa” than “go”, and not spooky. He’s safe for kids to be around and takes life at a relaxed pace. He’s still young and not completely finished, so he’ll do best with an intermediate or confident rider who’s assertive and consistent. He appreciates a rider who uses their seat, not just their legs. Too much kicking and he will just stop, but if you know how to lead him with your seat, then he will take you anywhere you want to go.
