Quarter Horse Mare for Sale in Fort Collins, CO
If you’re looking for a mare that combines eye-catching beauty with a solid, youth-friendly show record, Cedar is the total package. This gorgeous blood bay mare turns heads everywhere she goes with her rich color, kind eye, and elegant presence in the show pen.
For the past year, Cedar has been successfully shown in a local program by an 11-year-old rider, proving just how dependable, forgiving, and easy she is to get along with. She has experience with both English and Western classes, making her a versatile partner for a young rider or an amateur who wants to compete in multiple classes.
Cedar is finished in Western Pleasure and showmanship, with a naturally smooth, cadenced jog and an easy, comfortable lope that makes her a pleasure to ride and show. She has a finished flying lead change as well. Cedar also rides bridleless extremely well. She stops on “whoa” and with neck reins, using minimal pressure. She knows her job, stays consistent, and gives her rider confidence every time they step into the arena. Cedar is very good with time off and doesn’t need lunging or prep before being ridden.
Along with being great in the show pen, she is also a solid and dependable trail partner. She has been to multiple different parks, including Rocky Mountain National Park, Lory State Park, and Eagle’s Nest Trailhead, to name a few. Cedar has also been hauled to trail obstacle challenges and multiple indoor arenas.
Cedar is great to shoe and haul; she stalls well, pastures with others, and gets along. She is a very easy keeper and doesn’t require any maintenance other than a front set of shoes.
She is also up to date on vaccines, wormer, teeth floating, and has had regular sand clear and farrier care.
Whether you’re looking for a reliable horse for a youth rider or a safe partner to enjoy on the trail, Cedar is ready to continue her winning ways with her next person.
Pretty, proven, and pleasant. Cedar is one you’ll be proud to own.

About Fort Collins, CO
Fort Collins was founded as a military outpost of the United States Army in 1864. It succeeded a previous encampment, known as Camp Collins, on the Cache La Poudre River, near what is known today as Laporte. Camp Collins was erected during the Indian wars of the mid-1860s to protect the Overland mail route that had been recently relocated through the region. Travelers crossing the county on the Overland Trail would camp there, but a flood destroyed the camp in June 1864. Afterward, the commander of the fort wrote to the commandant of Fort Laramie in southeast Wyoming, Colonel William O.
