Quarter Horse Gelding for Sale in WY

AT AUCTION ON THEHORSEBAY.COM Jax – 2018 Black Morgan × Quarter Horse Gelding – 14.1 Hands Jax is a 2018 model standing 14.1 hands, a striking black Morgan–Quarter Horse cross who has been a ranch favorite from the day we brought him home. He’s the kind of horse everyone in the family wants to ride. Jax has done the real work. He’s packed elk, bighorn sheep, mountain lions, and has safely carried little kids, grandmas, and everyone in between. Whether you need him to lead the pack string or ride anywhere within it, Jax handles the job with ease. This is a true family-safe horse. He’s gentle enough for beginners and children, yet still enjoyable for experienced riders. Jax naturally adjusts his energy to match his rider, helping inexperienced riders feel comfortable and confident in the saddle. Out on the trail, Jax can really cover some country with a big, ground-covering walk. When needed, he’s just as happy to slow down and plod along. He’s been ridden extensively in extremely rough mountain terrain and is exceptionally sure-footed. We live in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, so when we say rough country, we mean it—down timber, shale slides, ice, mud, bogs, rivers, snow, steep terrain, bikes, dogs, and wildlife. Jax handles it all without hesitation and stays calm and dependable. He’s also fun to ride around the ranch or in the arena. Jax lopes nice correct circles, picks up his leads, has flying lead changes, and a good stop. He’s confident in town and handles traffic without issue. Jax has never offered to buck, bolt, or cause trouble. He’s easy to catch in the pasture and is a pleasure to shoe, saddle, bridle, and handle in every way. Absolutely no vices. Our family lives on a private ranch in Wyoming just outside Yellowstone National Park. We don’t just visit the mountains—we live and work here, making our living horseback. Our horses are exposed daily to wildlife, rough terrain, and real ranch conditions. We are not horse traders. Each year we only offer a select few of our best horses, and this year Jax is one of them. There will certainly be a few wet eyes when he leaves, but our horses always go on to great homes and lasting friendships. There’s no “gotcha” with Jax—if something isn’t mentioned here, it’s only because we forgot to write it down. Bid with confidence on this once-in-a-lifetime gelding.
