He is truly an in-your-pocket gelding and would climb in and go everywhere with you if he could. This horse gets noticed everywhere I take him with his tail that drags and beautiful coat. Wick’s unique cross has blessed him with the best of both worlds. He is built like a brick house with good bone and strong hooves, but he moves like butter and has a floaty, rocking horse canter. Wick has been an avid trail horse and has gone on as many rides with other horses as he has alone. He is the type of horse you can pull straight from the pasture and hop on. He has crossed hundreds of bridges and water crossings and ridden alongside carriages as well as other riding horses. He has a lot of road miles and has been around traffic as well as mountain miles with deer jumping out in front of him and birds flying from the ground, and he has handled everything in stride. If you enjoy bareback riding, he will not disappoint, as he is very comfy and will also ride with a bit or just a hackamore. Wick lives to please and will try his heart out for his person. He moves off leg pressure and has a very nice stop, both in the seat and by voice. He has been taught to park out and will stand beautifully square or parked out for a mount, and is very proud of it. Your vet and farrier will love him as he is a complete gentleman on the ground. He has been barefoot most of his life but will also stand for shoes; has his teeth floated without sedation; and is easy to worm or draw blood for Coggins testing. Wick also stands well for fly spray and bathes come the warmer season. If you want a horse that will meet you in the pasture and follow you around, Wick is your man. He is always ready for an adventure and is a quick learner. He will load in a slant or straight trailer, enjoys baths, grooming, and, of course, treats. Wick is an easy keeper and currently shares his pasture with a mini mare, but has also been with other geldings. Wick is an upstanding citizen ready to take you on adventures year-round.
