Merle is one to get you noticed! He is a grey that will never grey, thick, strong, big boned, and built to carry you smoothly all day long. He ties well, hauls well, and stands to saddle exactly as one should. He was previously ridden by an 80 year old gentleman who absolutely adored him. When his wife sold her horse and purchased one that was not gaited, he needed to switch horses, not because of Merle, but because Merle truly suits an experienced rider. Merle has been camping all over Western Kentucky, Tennessee, and Illinois. He stalls well, high ties, and handles new places with confidence. With his size, power, and forward way of going, Merle is best suited for an experienced rider who wants to step up and be noticed. He is great for the farrier, loves people, and has all the personality you could ask for, but he does require an experienced rider to bring out his best.

About EDDYVILLE, KY
Eddyville, the seat of Lyon County, was settled around 1798 and named for the eddies in the nearby Cumberland River. It became the seat of Livingston County when it was formed in 1799; then the seat of Caldwell County upon its formation in 1809; and finally the seat of Lyon County upon its establishment in 1854. Thus, it holds the distinction of being the only city in Kentucky to have served as the county seat of three separate counties. The Eddyville post office opened in 1801. Throughout Kentucky, Eddyville is best known as a metonym for the Kentucky State Penitentiary, although the prison itself is actually 3 miles (4.8 km) south of the present town on the shore of Lake Barkley in Old Eddyville on KY 730.
